Mycena praedecurrens Murr. Cap 1-2cm across, broadly conic becoming flatter with a shallow umbo and a slightly scalloped, lined margin; grayish brown, slightly darker on the disc and paler at the edge; smooth, very slightly sticky when wet. Gills long decurrent, distant; white with an ashy tint. Stem 20-40 X 1-2mm, stuffed, slightly enlarged at the top; white at the top, pale grayish brown below; almost smooth, slightly sticky when wet. Spores ellipsoid, smooth, amyloid, 4-5 x 3-3.5ì. Deposit white. Habitat on moss in damp, deciduous woods. Found in New York and Connecticut. Season August-September. Not edible.
